December 2009 / Forum on Lipoid Chemistry

On 8 December 2009 the first "comicon - Forum on Lipoid Chemistry" was held at the Novotel Hamburg Alster. Although registrations were initially few and far between in the end it turned out that the hall, which had been booked in September, could barely hold all participants.

Asked whether participants considered the organization of the forum a success 53,8% answered with "yes" and 46.2% with "very much so". The feedback about the chosen venue was even more positive (23,1% with "yes" and 76,9% with "very much so"). A complete analysis (as of 5.1.2010) can be downloaded from the following PDF-file.

The team of comicon would like to thank all distinguished speakers for their well-prepared and highly interesting lectures as well as all guests for their contribution to the pleasant atmosphere at the forum.

September 2009 / oils + fats

At the "oils + fats", comicon, being a guest of DGF, introduced the programme "Oil-Inspector", which was developed in cooperation with Dr. Gertz (Chairman of the DGF-Division "Analysis and Quality Assurance"). 55 comprehensive conversations were conducted and 37 companies showed a serious interest in this project.

Special attention was additionally paid to the programme "Oil-Expert", which makes simulations of blends, analyses and price calculations via PC possible. Specific inquiries came from Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.

At the "oil+fats" 2,600 visitors from about 90 different countries were counted according to the management of the fair.


July 2009 – Launching the Oil-Inspector

After extensive test runs the software "Oil-Inspector", devised in cooperation with the DGF, was finally given the green light for its release. Its first presentation and trial at one of the leading commercial laboratories was a huge success. (Please see "Laboratory data-technology").


Innotech GmbH / Lichtenfels Germany

June 2009 Innotech & comicon agree on close cooperation

INNOTECH Ltd., based in Lichtenfels (Franconia), has been producing high quality manufacturing machines for the car- and computer industry for years. In June 2009 both companies committed themselves to cooperating in the field of laboratory robots henceforth.

comicon, which has been developing software for SFC-automata with automatic data-transfer to LIMS since 1995, possesses substantial experience in programming interfaces.

By consolidating competence and experience this cooperation is geared toward assisting our customers in bringing the most complex automation projects to fruition.


DGF Headquarter Frankfurt / Germany

May 2009 – Partnership between DGF and comicon

On 15. 05. 2009 Dr. Frank Amoneit (DGF), Dr. Christian Gertz (Chairman of the DGF-Division "Analysis and Quality Assurance") and Hans W. Rech (comicon) met at the DGF in Frankfurt to reach an agreement on the joint sales and marketing of the software "Oil-Inspector". Dr. Gertz had initiated its development during his conversation with Dr. Hans Cullmann (comicon) at the AOCS in 2008. This programme is scheduled for availability as from July 2009 and can be ordered by the DGF.


January 2009 – Peak-O-Mat
Transfer + Analysis of GC-data

Commercial- and industrial laboratories have been using the software Peak-O-Mat since 2005. In recent months its graphics have been enhanced and further features added.

Peak-O-Mat automatically transfers analysis data, which come from GC, to LIMS. The extended Analyzer is pre-programmed to carry out a peak indexing.

January 2009 – comicon-Ware-House-Management-System

Centos Ltd. in Winsen implemented a Ware-House-Management-System designed by comicon. The company, a main customer, changed their IT structure within a short time frame, which made considerable adjustments to their data processing necessary.

The deadline could easily be met because individual customer solutions are the forte of comicon-WMS. The changeover went exactly according to plan and took place at the turn of the year 2008/2009.

May 2008 – comicon at the AOCS in Seattle

At the AOCS conference (American Oil Chemist Society) in Seattle comicon and Innolabtec shared a booth to represent their products.

While Innolabtec presented the jointly developed SFC-automata, comicon put their focus of information on the programmes Oil-Expert and Peak-O-Mat.

February 2008 – Second SFC-automaton delivered to the USA

comicon Ltd. (software) and Innolabtec Ltd. (automatons) exported their second SFC-automaton to the USA to be installed in the laboratory of an American edible fat refinery.
